Weekly Update 7th September

Hello to our Rovers Comunity,

This is the lead week up to our first round of Senior Cricket, it will also see the Barrier Reef Big Bash commence.  It is always an exciting time and very rewarding for our committee and volunteers to see their efforts pay off. I would like to welcome all new players to the Rovers family and I look forward to getting to know you all.

I would like to thank all our sponsors on behalf of Rovers, their support is a key part of keeping our club operating and growing. As a club that is 131 years old Rovers wants to keep growing and being part of the local community, our sponsors help provide us with this opportunity.  If you can support any of our sponsors, please do not hesitate.

Again, like other seasons I see players that I knew as young juniors step up into the senior ranks! I personally feel that this is a great achievement for the club. It’s a proud moment knowing that our junior coaches, parents and senior players have helped a young player on their path to get to senior cricket. For all our junior players and parents enjoy your time in the junior competition, be part of team and support each other. This is where friendships are formed and we can all help each other out when needed. Juniors need to be patient and not in a hurry to grow up, just enjoy being a kid!

I am excited for the season ahead, all grades in juniors and seniors are once again strong and showing great potential. Please try and get along to the Barrier Reef Big Bash, we have many of players involved and it’s a great family event. Also, the club always needs help, you do not need to be a cricket expert!

There are many other areas in which you can help and make our club better.
