Another busy week of cricket for Rovers, with our 2nd and 3rd Grade teams out on the park over the weekend.
The Barrier Reef Big Bash also came to an exciting finish, with the Halpin Hurricanes taking the win on Sunday! Congratulations to the Hurricanes and to all our Rovers players who were involved throughout the competition.
This week, the cricket continues with the Queensland Country Challenge for our Open Men, and once again we have plenty of Rovers players in action. Best of luck to all of them we will be cheering you on!

The mighty twos looked a bit different this week but the result was the same, with a brilliant, Rovers victory against Norths.
Nine changes from last week due to the Big Bash final provided opportunities, including 3 second grade debutants. Those who selected did themselves proud, including super 12th man Mungus!
We won the toss and elected to bowl on a sticky wicket. The bowling was tight but for the 3rd week in a row, an opening partnership developed until the experienced Hodgey finally got the breakthrough to get us underway.
On his 2nd grade debut, Brodie Masina bowled a beautiful spell into the wind and removed Norths captain on his way to figures of 1 for 14.
We tighend the screws with two brilliant run outs. Brodie North grabbed a wicket, and his brother Caleb (also on debut) bowled a tight spell. The final second grade debutant Brenton Edwards ran through the tail to finish with 3 for 26, while Tadhg also returned at the death to close out the innings, leaving us with a target of 164.
Our chase was high quality. After an early wicket Eddy (31) and Rhys Thomas (22) added 55 in good time. However three quick wickets had the game back in the balance before Barnsey (40), in his best knock yet for Rovers and Harry (19) steadied the ship. Dutto chipped in with a quick 19* at the end to see us home with 5 balls to spare.
This was genuinely a club win. Juniors and regular 3rd grade players stepped up, and at the other end, the 1st grade captain made himself available. Well done to all #bleedgreen.

A tough outing for our Magnum Plumbing KSS Rovers 2nd Grade, going down to Mulgrave by 162 runs. Mulgrave posted 7/209, before Rovers were dismissed for 47.
Not our day, but plenty more cricket ahead for the Rovers!
Super Global Services Rovers 3rd Grade, falling just short against Barron River. Rovers posted 102, with Barron River reaching 3/103 to take the win by 7 wickets.
Uunfortunately not quite our day.
A strong round for our 3rd Grade sides, with TerraNovus Rovers chasing down Norths’ 8/130 to finish 5/131, winning by 5 wickets.
HVAC Bhutanese Rovers also had a convincing win, restricting Norths to 76 before cruising to 1/77 for a 9-wicket victory.
