Tier 1
Rovers Red v Mulgrave Edmonton – Won
Rovers redbacks – our first win! 123 v 74. We travelled to Edmonton and captain Morgan won the toss and had no hesitation in batting. Our running between the wickets was excellent which made a big difference as the boundaries were long! Riley top scored with 20, Chad got 14 and everyone batted well. Our fielding and bowling was excellent – Aadit bowled 2 overs for 2 maidens! Jacob got 2 for 2 and Reuben T picked up a wicket as well amongst lots of great run outs. Great morning for all!.
Tier 1
Rovers Green v Rovers Gold
Rovers Green Versus Rovers Gold This week saw the two Tier 1 Rovers Teams divide in to 3 teams. Great to see so many of our youngest club members taking to the field each week.
Rovers Green played our newly formed Rovers Gold Team. Zac captaining Rovers Green won the toss and elected to bat. Toby and Alex were the chief destroyers taking 34 and 24 of their respective 15 balls with solid contributions also from Liam (15), Eamon (12) and Ben (11). Green finished with a competitive 113.
Rovers then bowled well to restrict Rover Gold to 100. Leading wicket takers were Liam (3-11), Toby (2-9) Blake (1-9) and Alex (1-13). Player awards went to Toby and Liam. Well done to both teams, a close game played in very good spirits!
JUNIOR RESULTS – TIER 2
Tier 2
Rovers Green v Cassowary Coast – Won
We lost the toss and were sent into Bat on the Turf wicket in Innisfail. It wasn’t easy starting out, with the turf playing it’s part swinging the ball for the top order. Cameron, Carter and Brodie came in to steady the innings and were turning over the strike. Then Caleb and Hugh coming in at 7 and 8 to put the bad balls away and score some runs. Caleb made 34 off 32 balls and Hugh 15 off 13 balls. We were all out for 135 off 25 overs. Now time to bowl, some great bowling by Thomas 2 for 7 off 3 overs, Carter 1 for 20 off 5 overs and Joash who nearly had his first wickets for the season but was unlucky. A great run out by Hugh sent one of their top order batsmen back to the shed. Overall a fantastic close game of cricket with Rovers winning by 6 runs. Players of the match were Joash bowling well. Caleb 34 runs. Carter 1 wicket for 20 and 14 off 26 balls with the bat. Ben wicket keeping 20 overs and keeping the chat in the field.
Great game boys.

The boys batted well and were fortunate enough to be able to keep batting once we passed their score ending up with 2/125 after 30 overs.
