SENIOR RESULTS

1st GradeRovers Twomey Schriber property Group V Cassowary Coast – WON!!Our 1st grade side took on Cassowary Coast. Unfortunately we lost the toss on a very batting friendly wicket. 2 quick wickets were followed by a 100 run partnership from C/Coast. Some tight bowling after the drinks break saw a breakthrough which exposed the lower order of the C/Coast side. Andrew Phelps finishing with 4 wickets, Brenton Edwards 2 wickets while Seth McGinty and Marcus Berryman kept things tight without much reward. With 158 required McGinty (71*) made light work of the total along with contributions from Phelps (36) and Berryman (37*). Great resilience by the side to fight back and take a bonus point win.2nd GradeRed Beret Hotel Rovers v Mulgrave Punjabi  -WON!!The mighty 2nd Grade took on Mulgrave Punjabs in a must win game. Mulgrave won the toss and decided to bat first on a pretty flat deck. Up stepped Thomas King for the first over of the game blasting their top order out of the water to be on a Hat trick in the first over. Wasn’t able to jag the hatrick to finish on figures of 4/13 off 7 overs, Rob Thresher was outstanding as well picking 1/3 off his 6 overs and the Wild Thing picking up a 2 fa. We rolled them for 82 all out and got the runs just after drinks giving us a bonus point. Fantastic effort by the boys and a well deserved win going into next week’s bye round 3rd GradeFGF Development Rovers v 3 Norths – WON!!3rds Dominated Norths – Batting first Dayne Margiotta and Thomas King  got us off to a solid start. Enter the crease Stuart Prest, the experienced batsman showed his class with 2 good partnerships with Rodney Stradford and Seth Diedricks and went on to score a very good unbeaten 100 smashing a 4 in style on the last ball of the innings. Rovers scored a very good total of 4/214 off their allotted 35 overs. A tidy fielding display and a great opening bowling partnership of Thomas King and Dayne Margiotta this time with the ball taking 5 wickets between them set us up to dominate n bowl Norths out for 84. Zak Akiz and Dhbas Bhandari also bowled well for a couple of wickets too. A great day to wear the green in the 3rds.
