SENIOR MATCH RESULTS
From Captain Josh Chadwick
Rovers v Mulgrave – WON!
Rovers 1st grade opened their T20 competition with a win against last year’s premiers – Mulgrave. Rovers won the toss and elected to bowl, all bowlers contributed to keep Mulgrave to 6-94. Special mention to Harry Halpin 1-8 off 4 overs and Tommy King grabbing a wicket on his first grade debut. Andrew Phelps and Brenton Edwards chased down the total convincingly with 43* and 40* respectively. Well done to the boys! Great way to start the 2023 season!
Rovers v Cassowary Coast Cyclones – WON!
Rovers 1st grade played their second T20 for the weekend against C/Coast. With an interrupted bowling innings due to rain our bowlers were put under some pressure from the C/Coast batsmen which saw them reach a total of 3/107 off the shortened 15 overs. Thanks to another impressive innings from Andrew Phelps 51* and a quick fire 32* from Ryan Terry we were able to chase the runs down with 3 balls to spare.
Well done Tommy King, 1st Grade debut
